Cross colour litter born 3rd December, 2002.    .

This litter is unique as dark blue merle "Higgins" is himself the result of an accidental mating between a black factored dark brindle to red point blue merle, while dark red brindle "Badger" has a red brindle sire and a red dam.  "Badger" is herself now proven to be black factored.   The nearest actual black ancestor is 3 generations behind this litter. 

There were 6 puppies born - 4 dark red brindles and 2 blue merles.  The last puppy born, a large brindle dog was stillborn and a tiny brindle bitch died at 2 days, but the remaining 4 puppies have done extremely well.  All 6 puppies showed wide full white collars and full white face blazes.  There were no mismarks, no off-colours, no fluffs, no bad mouthes, no faulty eye colours or pigmentation.  One blue merle bitch has 1 blue eye, with all other puppies having brown eyes and black pigmentation.

 This is "Julie", our outgoing little blue sweety with one deep blue eye. 

"Julie" is owned by child handler Sarah Tate, while "Roly", "Pixie" and "Paige" are staying home with me.    We will update this page with further photos as the puppies grow.

COPPERLEAF SILVER STARLITE  Pixie is still my pick of the litter, but is more reserved in her nature and doesn't sell herself as well as her sister Paige does.

This is "Roly", the leader of the pack.  A real little boy who didn't want to stand nicely for the camera.  This photo doesn't do him justice, as he has a simply beautiful head and a showey, sound body with perfectly carried tail.

This is Roly at 6 months.  
COPPERLEAF TRUE COLOURS  Roly is now owned by newcomer Mrs. Delrae Clode.   He was exercising his usual independence and not standing nicely for the camera!!  Roly is a glorious colour - his rich deep red brindle coat just gleams


"Roly" is now a NZ Champion.  At 10 months of age in September 2003 he won Best of Breed and BEST PUPPY IN GROUP at NZ's foremost all breed dog show, The NZ National Dog Show.  He is the first Cardigan Corgi to win a Group award at this prestigious show.

This is Paige at 5 1/2 months old. 
COPPERLEAF BRIGHTLY SHINING  Paige has really set the world alight in the showring.  In her first 4 all breed championship shows she has won 3 Baby Puppy In Group and 2 BABY PUPPY IN SHOW awards.  Her stunning movement and sparkling personality are winning friends wherever she goes. 

 "Paige" was exported to Australia at 2 years, where she is owned by J. Brady and A. & G. McQuire of Finjag Kennels in Queensland.  She has done very well for her new owners, her wins including BOB at the 2005 Brisbane Royal Show.
